Respond to requests for information (RFIs)
Save a response, approve a written comment and update or reassign a request for information.
1. Overview
David Thornton, Manager – Sell-side in the manual’s example, is responsible for responding to his assigned RFIs. He can instead reassign requests to internal team members or external advisers, such as legal, tax or financial advisers.
Respond by providing documents containing the answer, selecting an available response option, or providing a formal written response.
2. Respond with supporting documents
The source overview names documents as one way to respond. The detailed upload and attachment steps are in the Data Room setup guide.
Upload documents to the Data Room before selecting them as related documents for an RFI.
3. Select a response option
- Open the RFI tab.
- Select a suitable response from the RFI’s drop-down list.
- Click Save to save the response.
4. Provide a formal written response
- If no response option is suitable, open the RFI.
- Leave a comment with your response.
- Approve the comment so it becomes the seller’s official response to that RFI.
The manual describes comment approval, but does not specify the role permissions required. Confirm your configured access with the Project Owner if the action is unavailable.
5. Update the status or reassign
After responding, change the RFI status to Completed or Approved.
If more sell-side input is needed, assign the RFI to another team member. That team member must already be part of the project.
