The supplied file is headed “Vendor (sell-side) due diligence” and contains a broader workflow. This page focuses on its document-assignment instructions; the complete source is available in Guide 12.

1. Why assign documents

Assigning documents and folders identifies who is responsible for reviewing them. It also records the assignee in the exported document index and helps the team track review status.

Specialist advisers must be project users before they can be selected as assignees.

2. Assign documents or folders

  1. Open the Data Room and locate the document or folder.
  2. Click Assign beside that item.
  3. Select one or more assignees from the list.
  4. Confirm the assignment. Each assignee receives an email notification, and the documents appear in their review list.

3. Continue the review

After assignment, classify each document by type so the reviewer can use the appropriate checklist. The reviewer then opens Document Review, selects an assigned document and answers the preset questions.
